An art installation
featured at the
Desert Botanical Garden
This piece is my
personal favorite.
I love the colors,
the shape.
I could stare at it
for hours.

Hammering away
she makes dents in all the walls
but I do not care.
(How could I?
When she is so darn cute?)

She caught one
all by herself
but I didn’t
have the camera
handy.
Our friend
caught this one
for her
and she was still
ecstatic to be
holding
a chicken.

Sometimes
you have to wonder
what they were
thinking when
they made the
license plate.
I mean- since its
a likely to roll,
raised vehicle,
does that mean
that if they roll
they are a HOLY
Roller?

Wasting time
waiting for car
maintenance
We drank sweet drinks
together.

After a while
she opened
my phone
and saw a picture
of her Daddy.
She talked to
him on my
turned off phone,
telling him
how much she
missed him.

Maybe she
will follow me
and desire
to write
to pen stories
to make up
people, places
and things.
And then I
will know she
is my girl.

How I spent my morning
-painting-
The color on the left,
Cornmeal
was already there.
When the sun fills that
room at dusk
the walls are bathed
in a yellow almost
identical to this
so painting it yellow
was only natural.
I painted the hallway
a lighter, buttery yellow,
called Gold Buttercup.
You can’t
see how much
it really brightened
up the hallway
in a picture.

She makes friends
over the
block wall
that keeps
everyone else
in their own world.
This is my daughter
making her village,
her community.

Gwennie prefers short hair. Her hair was looking a little shaggy so we trimmed it. She also likes to have bangs, even though her sister is growing her bangs out.

Plus it gave me a chance to check for lice (which is going around her sister’s school.)
