I enter contests
but rarely win.
This time I won.
Three items from the
school raffle.
Blue corn pancake mix (with prickly pear syrup!)
A wooden marble run
and a hand knitted scarf.
I am a winner!
And it feels GOOD.

I look out to
see the Estrella Mountains
looming in the West.
Their jagged peaks
colored pink and purple
with the morning light.
