dogs play
for the most part
she is a well-mannered dog
but when she is around
another young one,
she can not stop
playing.
i wish i could bottle
that energy,
but not to sell,
just for me.

flowers bloom
everywhere
bright blues
and purples
yellows
oranges, reds
and pinks
coat the sides
of the road
its spring-time
in the desert.
