“plain boring brown eyes”
you feel left out
because the lighter
colored eyes
change so much
with clothes
and reflection.
but me?
i love my brown eyes
i love the color
and the way they
catch the light
glowing a
dark amber color
and often
matching my hair

you don’t eat
goldfish
while sitting in
a laundry basket?

Day 304

after a day at the vet,
a major abdominal surgery,
she can barely open her eyes
and only wants to sleep.
Poor girl,
but its the best thing for her.

they were ready to go
sitting in the truck
and then they jumped
out of the window.

so many times
i have walked by
this picture hanging
at my grandma’s house
never before did
i really see it.
but this time,
the light caught my eye
and i saw him
my brother,
in my grandpa’s face.
and i felt
the familial connection.

she woke up

my little girl
on her way
to womanhood,
on her way
to the teens,
she continues
to grow
as i mourn
the loss
of my baby.
