Our stairway
is now painted a bright
yellow
(the name is cornmeal,
and that is what is looks like).
I love how different
the color appears at sunrise
and midday
and sunset.

How I spent my morning
-painting-
The color on the left,
Cornmeal
was already there.
When the sun fills that
room at dusk
the walls are bathed
in a yellow almost
identical to this
so painting it yellow
was only natural.
I painted the hallway
a lighter, buttery yellow,
called Gold Buttercup.
You can’t
see how much
it really brightened
up the hallway
in a picture.
