Challenge- What relaxes you?
Rainy Days
The weather report said rain
but in this state its often a lie.
This morning though
the clouds and rain
as the sun rose
covered the world in
the most brilliant
orange.
The glow reflected
on wet city streets.
The sunset was lovely as well
the sky was so clear,
the rain and wind
had washed away
the pollution
and left only
bright blue.

Hanging laundry on the clothesline.
On laundry day
to relax
I take my time
and hang the
clothes out
on the line.
My mind wanders
as my hands
do the task,
no thought needed
because this is
part of me,
part of my past.
Repetition slow
and steady,
as the breeze blows
and my mind
is free.

Yesterday was a picture bust.
This is the only picture I took all day that wasn’t blurry, funky, or crappy. It is the only picture that shows what most of my day was spent doing. This is only the top half of the freezer, the bottom half was similarly stocked full of meals. Delicious meals, that I will not have to cook. Most of these are soups that we can throw in the crockpot in the morning, and by dinner we had a tasty ready to eat meal. Some of these are frozen lasagnas and enchiladas (the aluminum bakeware.) Oh, and together we made enough food to feed four families for four weeks. (The families have 2, 3, 4, and 5 kids.)
Friday was spent cooking and I am exhausted.
(I know that the challenge was Purple, but heck, I didn’t see anything purple all day. Its too bad I couldn’t get Gwennie to put on purple, she wore her favorite pink star dress, with pink pants and pink boots. It should have been pink day.)
