luckily
all of the plants
made it past the few
days of frost we had.

from a bio-dynamic garden
grown at my
oldest’s school.

at home these
little pea shoots
are slowly reaching out
and twisting
themselves while they grow.

just outside of
the room we were in
at our marriage retreat,
this old vine grows,
it wound around itself
in a symbolic way.

they sat out
slowly molding
slowly rotting
while the sun
baked them

my fingers are crossed
that someday
i will eat the bell pepper
that grows from
this bloom
but for now
i will just
enjoy the blossom.
