veteran’s day
he dressed up
and so did i.

little black dress
because all women
are supposed to have one,
and i had occasion
to wear one.
so a friend and i
shopped until the stores
closed.
she took this picture with
her phone, and you
can’t see the really
neat layered details
on this dress.

and congestion
and puppy potty breaks
all night long
are taking their toll
on my sanity.
