Day 321

reddish
some days
my hair looks
reddish to me.
without changing
the color, whether
its just the lighting
or what i am wearing
i don’t know.
(and i haven’t dyed
all of it in about 6 months,
only re-bleached
the blond streak)

Day 314

self portrait AUGUST
feeling good about myself
once again an attempt
to take a good
self portrait.
Not too bad,
although
the lighting
is not good.

(Is it wrong that i love the out of focus face?)

shades of brown
sometimes
when you have
“plain boring brown eyes”
you feel left out
because the lighter
colored eyes
change so much
with clothes
and reflection.
but me?
i love my brown eyes
i love the color
and the way they
catch the light
glowing a
dark amber color
and often
matching my hair

secrets
“mama? let me tell you a secret”
as she whispered goofiness
in my ear
and i laughed

Day 291

trying to smile
“smiling with your eyes”
is harder than it sounds.

Day 278

haircut
new haircut,
but now i need
to figure out
how to style it
just like this.
(It does look good
without the styling…
but this looks REALLY
good.)

Day 264

Napping by the pool
the best way
to sit by the pool
snuggling a sleeping child.

Day 252

Posted in self on June 13, 2009 by leanerlou

sunburn
two days after
spending an afternoon
in the sun
my skin was red
and i couldn’t sleep
very well
Next time,
i will remember sunscreen.

amoxicillin 875
sinus pressure
won’t go away
an infection sets in
and to the doctor
i go.
home again
with pink horse pills
to take twice a day
for ten days
and hopes that
soon my lymph node
will be back to
normal and my head
will no longer
feel like a constant
migraine.
